Making the most of Cape Royds

01

Arriving at the port

Ships cannot berth here, so inflatable Zodiac boats tender passengers ashore from the vessel.

02

Sightseeing

The surviving explorer huts show the hardships endured by Antarctic pioneers: Shackleton's is at Cape Royds and Scott's at Cape Evans. New Zealand Antarctic Society maintains both, leaving them as originally found, including bales of hale for horses and seal meat for huskies.
