Arriving at the port
You will arrive in the center of town. The town retains many of its pre-colonial and post-colonial buildings, and is considered the most intact remaining example of colonial influence and life-style in the South Pacific.
Levuka is a town on the south-east coast of the Fijian island of Ovalau, in Lomaiviti Province, just off the main island of Viti Levu. Ovalau is a lush tropical volcanic island surrounded by large coral reefs. At the northern end of Levuka is the traditional Fijian village of Levuka, where the village chief is a direct descendant of the chief who welcomed the first European settlers.
Getting around
Popular activities in Lavuka include a historical town tour or a day trip to Silana (10km from Levuka)
A trip to Lovoni in central Ovalau., the town is nestled within a crater.
Other attractions include the Levuka Museum and Community center, a wide variety of water sports and visits to nearby islands.
Food and shopping
The only restaurants on the Ovalau Island are located in Levuka town, or at the Ovalau Holiday Resort 4 km north of Levuka. However visitors may be offered food and drink when passing by a village. This is Fijian custom and should not be abused

The currency in Fiji is the Fijian Dollar (FJD).
