South Korea's new international cruise terminal in Yeosu City stands at the centre of the World Expo 2012 site.
KTX rail services connect the cruise terminal with Seoul in approximately three hours, while Yeosu Airport is a 30 minute ride away.

Yeosu ranks among the country's most picturesque port cities, especially after dark. Known for seafood, beaches, flowers and marinas, it is developing as both an international ocean resort and tourist destination, and was selected to host the 2012 World Expo in Yeosu Harbor.
Hyangiram Hermitage is a beautiful, temple-like retreat overlooking the sea and the scattered islands of Yeosu Peninsula. Positioned along a cliffside, the complex is linked by very narrow paths winding through tight caves and beneath twisted evergreen foliage. Although rather claustrophobic, its distinctive setting makes it one of Yeosu's essential sights. Nearby places
Odongdo Island, a leading Yeosu attraction, is known to young couples as an ‘Island of Love.’ Seagulls welcome ferry passengers and cross above the wake as the boat travels over peaceful water. A connection to the mainland also makes the island accessible aboard the Dongbaek (Magnolia) Train or on foot. Tranquillity extends across the whole island, from its wooded walking route to the 25 metre-high lighthouse observatory and musical fountain.
A one-way ferry fare is 3,000 won for about 20 minutes; the one-way Dongbaek Train costs 500 won and takes about 15 minutes.

The won is South Korea's currency, with 1 US$= approx 1000 won.
ATMs are ubiquitous, yet most Korean machines do not take overseas cards; only special Global ATMs accept them. These are available at airports and certain subway stations in large cities, as well as many Family Mart convenience stores, so obtain cash before travelling into the countryside. Credit-card acceptance, by contrast, is excellent: every restaurant and motel except the very cheapest will accept Visa and Mastercard.
Staying connected
Korean is spoken, while English is understood fairly well, particularly among younger people. They certainly enjoy practising their skills with English-speaking tourists.
South Korea is the world's most connected country, and customer cafés providing free WiFi, called PC bang, are ubiquitous throughout the country.
