Arriving at the port
Rather than a large commercial cruise terminal like those at some ports, Staniel Cay primarily serves smaller cruise ships and yachts.
Cruise-ship or tender docks are usually near Staniel Cay Yacht Club or the local marina, a central area for the island’s amenities.
The main Staniel Cay area, with local shops, restaurants and the yacht club, is close to the dock: normally only a few minutes’ walk from tender or smaller-boat disembarkation.
Enjoy the pristine beaches on Staniel Cay itself or nearby islands, where white sands and turquoise waters suit swimming and sunbathing.
The Exumas have some of the Bahamas’ best snorkeling and diving, including opportunities to see colourful coral reefs and marine life.
Getting around
Pig Beach on Big Major Cay is a must-see, offering the chance to swim with the famous Exuma pigs, which are friendly and used to visitors.
Explore Thunderball Grotto, an underwater cave system known for snorkeling and diving and featured in the James Bond film "Thunderball."
