Picturesque Old Town is Lysekil's oldest district and the place where settlement began in the 16th century. Its oldest houses are now around 200 years old. Wander through idyllic streets and cosy alleys between small homes, several of which display signs explaining their owners and history.
A small, picturesque town centre and neighbouring villages nestle among the celebrated red-granite rocks where Gullmarsfjord meets Skagerrak's deep sea. The district combines cultural history, thick forests, little islands and numerous outdoor pursuits.
Havets Hus is a saltwater aquarium where visitors can approach the sea and encounter hundreds of fascinating marine species. Around 40 aquariums sit alongside activities including seal safaris and beach schools, making Havets Hus one of Bohuslän's most popular destinations.
Built during the 1860s, Lysekil's city park is the largest park in town. Its oldest trees are believed to have been planted in the mid 1800s.
