Arriving at the port
South Harbour has several cruise-ship quays, with a maximum 11 meters draft and 250 meters length (LOA). The city centre is about 5-10 minutes from the pier by car.
For large cruise ships, tenders land passengers a few minutes' walk from Sweden's oldest shopping street, which runs through central Helsingborg.
During a cruise call, tourist information is open on the pier and in the downtown Town Hall, normally 8 am-8 pm.
The new City Pier opened early in 2020. Its quay is 180 meters long and can moor vessels up to 150 meters (LOA), directly beside the City center.

Öresund is the waterway dividing Sweden and Denmark. At the Sound's narrowest point, about 40 kilometers north of Copenhagen, twin cities Elsinore and Helsingborg guard the Baltic Sea entrance. Getting around
Compact Helsingborg is easy to explore on foot.
Nearby places
Take the 15 minute ferry across the Sound to Helsingor, Denmark, for Kronborg Castle and its cute little town.
With time available, take the train to Malmo, travelling over and under spectacular Oresund bridge, make a short Copenhagen stop, then continue up the coast to Helsingor.
Sofiero Castle and its beautiful gardens are just outside Helsingborg, reached by a short taxi ride.
Food and shopping
The city centre has plentiful shops, museums and restaurants, with Danish porcelain, silver, amber and leather goods among the available items. Antique and second hand shops add character and reward a keen eye with unique finds. And yes, there is an IKEA.
Money
Swedish krona is the national currency; its code is SEK and its plural is kronor. Approximate rates are 1 USD = 5.91 SEK, 1 EUR = 9.43 SEK and 1 GBP = 12.28 SEK.
Automatic teller machines accept major credit cards. Major cards are accepted in most shops, restaurants and bars, though some charge a SEK 5 fee or impose a minimum purchase of 50 - 100 SEK.
Staying connected
