Arriving at the port
The port is a walkable distance from the town.
Denia is in Spain’s Alicante region on the Costa Blanca, roughly halfway between Alicante and Valencia and opposite the Balearic Islands. Montgo Natural Park forms an impressive mountain backdrop. The 11th and 12th century castle overlooks the town and gives excellent views over the city, sea and surrounding area; its Palau del Governador contains the castle museum.

Dénia is regarded as one of Spain’s most festival-filled districts. Every part of the year brings celebrations linked to its quarters, streets or wider community, so a religious or festive surprise is difficult to avoid.

The Falles bonfires, featuring passacaglia, mascletaes fireworks and the final cremà, when the bonfires are burned.
With ‘Bous a la mar’ (Bulls to the sea), the Patron Saint Fiestas honour the Most Holy Blood (Santíssima Sang); they are declared a Fiesta of National Tourist Interest.
Moors and Christians, with its disembarkation, castle fight and especially its gala cortège.
The All Saint Attraction Fair, whose attractions are especially anticipated by children.

Dénia has notably beautiful beaches and a historic centre dominated by the castle at the heart of town.
Mount Montgó, a declared Natural Park, stands only a few metres from the sea. Fishing boats arrive and depart through the day, supplying the seafood that has made Dénia a renowned cuisine haven. There is much to do: climb the castle, visit museums, churches, old quarters and streets, walk through Montgó Natural Park, see ships at the fish exchange, spend time on sandy beaches, take part in sports or local fiestas, and explore nearby places.
Alicante is 85 km from Denia.
