The Port of Vancouver is home port for the Vancouver-USA cruise, one of the world's most popular cruises. Annually from May to September, more than 900,000 passengers on some 275 sailings, pass through the Port's terminals at Canada Place. Just a few minutes walk to the downtown attractions. Port Metro Vancouver is Canada’s largest port.

The Skytrain system in Vancouver Canada now has three lines with 68.7 km (42.7 mi) of track and 47 stations. Day passes are available on the Greater Vancouver transit system or individual 90 minute tickets.

The Expo Line, the Millennium Line and the new Canada Line which runs between Richmond and Downtown Vancouver. The International airport (YVR) is in Richmond and the Skytrain Canada Line runs right to the door. This is by far the least expensive and quickest way to get between the Canada Place Cruise Ship terminal and YVR Airport. The Cruise Ship terminal is a couple hundred feet from the Canada Line waterfront Skytrain Station.

A taxi from the airport is $35. Uber & Lyft are now in operation.

SkyTrain is the oldest and one of the longest automated driverless light rapid transit systems in the world. The Expo and Millennium SkyTrain Lines connect downtown Vancouver with the cities of Burnaby, New Westminster and Surrey. The Canada Line connects downtown Vancouver to the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and the city of Richmond. With the addition of the new Evergreen Extension, the Millennium travels from Vancouver through Burnaby into Port Moody and Coquitlam.

Running on electricity, SkyTrain is emission-free and energy efficient. Travelling high above traffic on elevated guide ways means that you fly over traffic, on trains running every 2 to 8 minutes.

The SeaBus is passenger only, accessible ferry service. The 400-passenger catamaran ferry to takes you between downtown Vancouver and North Vancouver in only 12-minutes. Be sure to have your camera ready, as the ride is very scenic with spectacular views of the city, mountains and Burrand Inlet. The North Shore terminal is located at Lonsdale Quay. You will find a bus terminal which with connecting buses waiting to take you where you want to go. You should also check out the Lonsdale Quay Market. The market is home to over 80 unique shops and services.

A good spot to move on to from Vancouver is British Columbia's capital Victoria, on Vancouver Island. Vancouver is also quite close to Seattle and a bit further off is the beautiful resort town of Whistler.

Robson Street in the City center is home to many high-end and touristy shops.

Pacific center has more than 150 shops, restaurants and services if you want to walk in an underground shopping center. The shopping center begins on the north end at Robson Street, and stretches all the way to Pender Street. There are many floors in the mall depending on where you are, and notable merchants include Holt Renfrew, Harry Rosen, Sport Chek, Gap, and coming soon H&M and Apple Store; the mall is connected to the Bay (at Georgia and Granville streets), and Vancouver center (a small mall mainly consisting of a lotto center, London Drugs, and a food court underneath Scotiabank).

Vancouver is also famous for its dim sum restaurants. Because of the big Chinese population, the price and quality of dim sum here is among the best in the world.

It's considered normal to tip 10-15% of a restaurant bill. Tips are also usually given to bell hops, concierges, room cleaners, cab drivers, hairdressers, hotel attendants and, by savvy drinkers, bar staff.

You will find ATMs in many grocery stores, malls, airports and so on, and most are linked to the international networks, the most common being Cirrus, Plus, Star and Maestro. You can also grab cash from an ATM if you use a major credit card although this method tends to be more expensive because, in addition to a service fee, you'll be charged interest immediately.
