Arriving at the port
You will dock in the center of the town of Ermoupolis.
The town of Ermoupolis is the capital of the Cyclades and one of the most architecturally fascinating ports of the Mediterranean.
It was named after the God of commerce and knowledge, Hermes, Ermoupolis literally means "the city of Hermes". Hermouplois has some of the most beautiful old buildings that are to be found in Greece and is one of the most cosmopolitan. On the square you will find a statue of the freedom hero Admiral Andreas Miaouli, a very important man of the Greek Revolution in 1821.
The Apollo Theatre in Ermoupolis is a miniature of La Scala in Milan and the town has very interesting churches, an archaeological museum as wel as an interesting library.
