Arriving at the port
You dock in the centre of Ermoupolis town.
Ermoupolis, the capital of the Cyclades, ranks as one of the Mediterranean’s most architecturally fascinating ports.
Named for Hermes, the God of commerce and knowledge, Ermoupolis literally translates as "the city of Hermes". Hermouplois is one of Greece’s most cosmopolitan places and has some of its most beautiful old buildings. In the square stands a statue of freedom hero Admiral Andreas Miaouli, a very important figure in the Greek Revolution of 1821.
Ermoupolis has interesting churches, an archaeological museum and an interesting library, while its Apollo Theatre is a miniature of Milan’s La Scala.
Food and shopping
Cafes, restaurants and shops line the waterfront promenade, where you can take a leisurely walk, sample local cuisine and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

Opening Hours and
Public Services operate Monday to Friday from 8.00am – 2.00pm. Retail Stores & Specialty Shops open Monday to Friday, 9am – 1.30pm, then again 5pm – 9pm, and Saturdays, 9am – 2pm. Supermarkets trade Monday to Friday, 9am – 9pm, plus Saturdays, 9am – 6pm. Most Tourist Shops and Convenience Stores have no official hours and usually open from dawn until well after midnight in the summer months.
