Making the most of Spetses

Arriving at the port
This is a tender port, with tenders arriving in the town center.
Spetses Town extends along the island's northeast coast, its houses rising steeply behind main Dapia Harbour and the harbour-front.
Spetses is a Greek island, sometimes counted among the Saronic Islands. It is beautiful, with sandy beaches and secluded bays, while its capital is an architectural delight of two-storey houses with colored walls and wooden balconies.
Getting around
Walking is the best way to get around town.
Only locally owned vehicles may use Spetses, and there are not many, although numbers are increasing. Hundreds of noisy scooters and motorbikes more than compensate. Motorbike-rental shops are everywhere, at around €18 to €25 daily; regular bikes cost about €8.
Opposite Bardakos Tours office, water taxis leave the quay and list fares on a board. Sample oneway rates are €30 for Agia Marina and €55 for Agii Anargyri, or €70 for an island round trip; fares are per trip, not per person.

Opening Hours and
Public Services are open Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 2.00pm. Retail Stores & Specialty Shops open Monday to Friday, 9am – 1.30pm then 5pm – 9pm, and Saturdays 9am – 2pm. Supermarkets open Monday to Friday, 9am – 9pm, and Saturdays, 9am – 6pm. Tourist Shops and Convenience Stores usually lack official hours, opening dawn to well after midnight during summer.
