Arriving at the port
Skyros lies in Greece's southern Sporades Islands. Its main town is also Skyros, known locally as the Chora, like the principal towns of many other Greek islands.
Cruise ships and ferries arrive at Linaria Harbour, Skyros's principal port, on this scenic Northern Sporades island in the Aegean Sea.
On the island's southern/eastern side, Linaria Harbour is the primary sea-arrival gateway for visitors to this scenic Northern Sporades island in the Aegean Sea.
Sightseeing
Skyros’ small port is charming and very traditional, unlike the large commercial terminals of bigger cruise destinations.
It is generally quiet and picturesque by day; during summer evenings, the waterfront becomes a lovely strolling place with ambient lights and occasional cultural activities.
Getting around
Taxis and buses timed with ferry/arrival services provide transfers to Chora, the island’s main village, as well as beaches and other points of interest.
