Arriving at the port
Cruise ships berth at Kongshavn, a name that translates as King's Harbor.
The harbour lies directly in the town centre.
Runavík Municipality is increasing its efforts as a visitor destination to serve growing numbers of Faroe Islanders and summer visitors. Getting around
The blue inter-town buses, known as Bygdaleiðir, run daily to most districts. Obtain the comprehensive Ferðaætlan schedule of inter-town bus and ferry times from the tourist office or the central bus station near Tórshavn harbour.
Food and shopping
Faroese souvenirs of particular interest include numerous woollen products, stuffed birds, ceramics, wooden articles, jewellery, music, stamps and posters.
Tipping is not customary. Service charges are generally built into prices, whether for an elaborate restaurant meal, a taxi journey across town or a haircut.
Money
The Faroe Islands are a self-governing region of the Kingdom of Denmark, and their government issues the króna, although Danish coins remain in use. Its exchange value matches the Danish krone, with no exchange service charge because Danish notes and the Faroese króna are accepted equally throughout the country.

Danish is spoken, and English is well understood.
Telecenter (Teledepilin), at Niels Finsensgøta 10 in Tórshavn, operates a netcafé where emails can be sent and received. Tourist information offices in Tórshavn, Sandoy and Runavík also provide an internet café service.

Opening Hours and
Most shops operate from 9:00/10.00 until 17:30. Many stay open to 19:00 on Friday. Saturday trading is limited, with shops starting at 9:00 and closing at either 12:00, 14:00 or 16:00. Every store closes on Sunday.
