Arriving at the port

Basking in more hours of sunshine than any other Greek island, Rhodes is loved for its fascinating past, not to mention its glittering sandy beaches. Venture inside the ancient walls of Rhodes' citadel to discover the Medieval city left behind by the Knights of St John. Marvel at the mighty Palace of the Grand Masters, a gigantic fortress which dominates the old town, and call in at the 15th-century Hospital of the Knights, now a great archaeological museum. It does have an elevator if you are disabled but there are a few steps on the second floor.
Getting around
Walking (30 minutes) through the walled old town or along the harbor front (10 minutes), you will arrive at Rimini Square, from where buses and taxi's depart for other places. Taxi Pricelist
In town there is a hop on/off bus, leaving at 10 am, at hourly intervals from the Tourist Harbor (Cruise terminal), 12 Euro.
There is also a little tourist train going around Rhodes Town and a free shuttle in the pretty Old Town.
Nearby places
Lindos with its stunningly preserved acropolis and UNESCO-protected status make this trip a must-do excursion. You'll also enjoy Faliraki and all it has to offer.

In the old town there is WiFi and some cafes which offer free WiFi for customers. Wifi requires a purchase in a cafe or restaurant, at which time a password will be issued.

Public Services: open Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 2.00pm. Retail Stores & Specialty Shops: Monday to Friday, 9am – 1.30pm and then again from 5pm – 9pm. Saturdays, 9am – 2pm. Supermarkets: Monday to Friday, 9am – 9pm, and Saturdays, 9am – 6pm. Tourist Shops and Convenience Stores: most of these do not have official opening hours and are usually open from dawn to well after midnight during the summer months.
