Making the most of Rab

Use these notes to shape a realistic day ashore, then confirm any time-sensitive information for the date of your call.

01

Arriving at the port

The ships will anchor offshore, facing the medieval center of Rab. Tenders will bring you to the center of town. A few meters from the tender and catamaran landing, massive fortifications dominate the waterfront.

Rab is an island and a town of the same name located just off the northern Croatian coast in the Adriatic Sea, today in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county. The northeastern side of the island is mostly barren, while the southwestern side is covered by one of the last oak forests of the Mediterranean.

02

Getting around

Rab is rich with cultural heritage and historical monuments. Today, medieval walls still stand, along with ancient churches, palaces, and stone streets that bear witness to Rab's rich history and long tradition of beauty.

Explore fragrant woods, freshwater springs, and the imposing 13th-century Romanesque Cathedral. Rab is also home to Komrcar Park, featuring dozens of rare and beautiful trees.

Along the waterfront there are several excursion boats. It's also possible to ride an inexpensive "taxi boat" to the FKK Frkanj or naturist beach at Kandarola outside of town.
