Arriving at the port
Redang, or Pulau Redang (Redang Island) in Malay, is an island in Kuala Nerus District, Terengganu, Malaysia. It lies about 45 km off the coast of mainland Terengganu.
Cruise ships anchor offshore near the main island, and passengers are tendered to Redang Island Jetty (Jeti Pulau Redang), close to Pasir Panjang Beach on the eastern side of the island.
Sightseeing
The island is part of a protected marine park, famous for its white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs. On arrival, visitors find a small jetty area with basic amenities, local boats, and access to nearby resorts. There are no large shops or transport hubs at the pier; most activities are organized through cruise excursions or island resorts.
Getting around
Redang is very low on sights and most visitors spend their time lazing on the beach or exploring the corals. There's some fairly active wildlife, though, including inquisitive monkeys (don't feed them), energetic squirrels and large monitor lizards.
Popular shore experiences include snorkeling, diving, glass-bottom boat trips, beach relaxation, and short jungle walks. Independent exploration is limited, as the island has few roads and transport is mainly by resort boats or arranged transfers.

Snorkeling is the number one activity on Redang and rightly so as the coral reefs are quite spectacular.
