Arriving at the port
Compared with major cruise terminals, this is not a large port at cruise-ship scale; access or anchoring is likely restricted for large vessels.
Sightseeing
The Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a 6th-century basilica and one of Croatia’s most important cultural landmarks. Its mosaics and architecture are stunning, making it essential for history and art lovers.
Porec’s charming old town combines narrow streets, Venetian-style buildings, many cafés and shops. Stroll at leisure, investigate Roman and medieval structures, or relax at a seaside café.
For archaeology or the town’s long history, stop at the Poreč Museum. Set in a historic building, it displays artifacts from Roman and medieval eras.
Getting around
With extra time, take a boat to the Brijuni Islands, a national park with beautiful nature, wildlife and some Roman ruins. It is farther away, but worthwhile for nature lovers.
The town is highly walkable and easy to discover at your own pace. As a popular cruise stop, it also has plenty of excursions for anyone who would rather not explore independently.
