Parga curves around a sandy beach set between two rugged outcrops. An amphitheatre of candy-coloured houses climbs the slope towards a Venetian Castle. The surrounding hills are dotted with quaint churches and covered in ancient olive groves, including some of Greece’s largest olive trees.

Active guests enjoy the Acheron River Safari adventure, while others like strolling through town and playing from the marina in the afternoon.

Nearby places

For panoramic town views, visit Parga’s Venetian Castle. A day trip can take you to Zagoria, with its two national parks and Vikos Gorge, the world’s deepest gorge. Closer to Parga is Nekromanteio of Acheron, an archaeological site dating to the 14th century BC that ancient Greeks believed was one of the entrances to Hades.

Opening Hours and

Public Services are open Monday to Friday from 8.00am – 2.00pm. Retail Stores & Specialty Shops open Monday to Friday, 9am – 1.30pm, then again from 5pm – 9pm; Saturday hours are 9am – 2pm. Supermarkets open Monday to Friday, 9am – 9pm, and on Saturdays, 9am – 6pm. Most Tourist Shops and Convenience Stores have no official hours and usually trade from dawn until well after midnight during the summer months.
