Making the most of Nydri

Arriving at the port
Nydri is a tender port. Nidri's seafront is named Akti Aristoteli Onasi after shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, whose statue dominates the view as he looks towards his island of Skorpios.
Nidri, also written Nydri, was once billionaire Aristotle Onassis's playground and remained fairly exclusive and undeveloped until his death. More recently it has become the island's largest and liveliest resort, with many seafront bars and tavernas. Much of its popularity comes from the sailing community, which has long regarded the safe harbour as a necessary Cruise Port when navigating these waters.
Getting around
The land around Nidri, or Nydri, is reasonably flat, making it well suited to cycling or walking through olive groves to the Nidri Waterfalls. More energetic visitors can climb the surrounding hills for excellent views among wild flowers and blossom during spring and the early summer months.
Nydri Waterfalls, also called Dimosari Waterfalls, are a popular attraction a short drive or hike from town. The relatively easy, scenic walk makes the falls an appealing outing for nature enthusiasts.

Opening Hours and
Public Services open Monday to Friday from 8.00am – 2.00pm. Retail Stores & Specialist Shops trade Monday to Friday from 9am – 1.30pm and again from 5pm – 9pm, plus Saturdays from 9am – 2pm. Supermarkets operate Monday to Friday from 9am – 9pm and Saturdays from 9am – 6pm. Most Tourist Shops and Convenience Stores have no official hours and are usually open from dawn until well after midnight during the summer months.
