Mythemna, also called Mithymna or Molyvos, is a former municipality on Lesbos in Greece's North Aegean region. It is the island's second most important town and stands at the northern tip of Lesbos, or Lesvos. This beautiful village has a majestic Genoese fortress crowning its hill and looking across a picturesque harbour.
Getting around
A walk through the village is worthwhile even for anyone concerned about climbing hills. Molyvos's principal street is cobbled and completely covered by wisteria that seems to flower even when it should not. These remarkable vines shade the route and make daytime walking tolerable on even the hottest days.

Public services trade Monday to Friday from 8.00am until 2.00pm. Retailers and specialist shops open Monday to Friday from 9am to 1.30pm and again between 5pm and 9pm, plus Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. Supermarket hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm, and Saturday, 9am to 6pm. Tourist shops and convenience stores generally have no official schedule, remaining open from dawn until well after midnight during summer.
