Louisbourg stands beside the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. Alongside this historic attraction, the town offers beautiful island scenery, magnificent seascapes and beaches. Cape Breton Highlands National Park, the Cabot Trail and Baddeck's Alexander Graham Bell Museum are all within easy driving distance.

Food and shopping
A 10-15% restaurant tip is considered normal. Bell hops, concierges, room cleaners, cab drivers, hairdressers, hotel attendants and, for knowledgeable drinkers, bar staff also usually receive tips.

The currency is the Canadian dollar.
ATMs can be found in many grocery stores, malls and airports, and most connect to international networks such as Cirrus, Plus, Star and Maestro. Major credit cards can also be used to withdraw cash, although this is usually more expensive: as well as a service fee, interest is charged immediately.
Staying connected
Canada's main languages are English 59.3% and French 23.2%, both official, with other languages accounting for 17.5%. Quebec and New Brunswick are the most "French" areas, while the rest of the country is English speaking.
