The Port of Foynes’ most popular tourist attraction is the Foynes Flying Boat Museum which tells the story of early aviation from 1939 to 1945 when the first transatlantic flights operated out of Foynes. The Museum occupies the original airplane terminal, and a full-scale replica of the “Yankee Clipper” (the Pan Am flying boat that made the first historic flight) is on display.

Limerick: The city overlooks the majestic and historic King John's Castle which is perched on its Shannon river bank. A city of many contrasts, it has managed to successfully blend the modern with the historic. Closing is at 12.30am Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, 12.30 to 11.30pm. Pubs are closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday.
