Arriving at the port

You will be at anchor in Fiskardo and be tendered to the center of town.

Located on a long, sheltered bay on the northern tip of Cephalonia, lovely Fiskardo is unique on the island in that it was largely spared by the 1953 earthquake that devastated most of the other island villages. As a result, its waterfront is the only one here that still features the pastel-painted Venetian-style houses that once prevailed.

Rest assured that whether you spell Kefalonia,Kefalinia, Cephalonia, Kefallonia or Cephallonia, they all refer to one and the same.

Getting around

Fiskardo Village: Stroll through the charming village with its traditional Venetian-style houses, many of which have been beautifully preserved. The harbor area is lined with cafes, tavernas, and shops, perfect for enjoying local cuisine and browsing souvenirs.

A popular excursion is a boat ride into the sunken cavern and sky-blue subterranean Melissani Lake.

Opening Hours and

Public Services: open Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 2.00pm. Retail Stores & Specialty Shops: Monday to Friday, 9am – 1.30pm and then again from 5pm – 9pm. Saturdays, 9am – 2pm. Supermarkets: Monday to Friday, 9am – 9pm, and Saturdays, 9am – 6pm. Tourist Shops and Convenience Stores: most of these do not have official opening hours and are usually open from dawn to well after midnight during the summer months.
