Arriving at the port

Bahia Culebra itself is not a large town but rather a beautiful bay area with several luxury resorts and natural attractions. The closest town is Liberia, which is about 35 kilometers away from the bay. Liberia serves as the regional hub and provides access to many services and amenities.

Bahía Culebra (Culebra Bay), with its snake-like shape, attracts lots of international and national tourists. This natural area has turned into a biological model of Guanacaste due to the well preservation of its natural environment as well as the wide variety of species that inhabits this region.

In Bahía Culebra, some of the most important beaches of the province are located. Some of them are Playa Nancite, Playa Nacascolo and Playa Iguanita Beaches. Near the last one it is placed Iguanita Wildlife Shelter and Manzanillo Beach. There, you can practice water sports and chill on the beach.

Food and shopping

Finding a place to eat out isn't difficult in Costa Rica and generally speaking wherever you head for, the standards of hygiene in the kitchens are high and you run little risk of getting food poisoning. Expensive restaurants may not necessarily offer the best food and visitors are encouraged to try the smaller establishments, known as sodas, which the locals tend to frequent and the food is as authentic as it gets, while frequently of a standard equal to or higher than expensive venues.
