In Nunavut, Canada, Akpatok Island forms part of the Canadian Arctic islands. It is Ungava Bay's largest island, on Quebec's northern coast at 60°25'N, 68°08'W. Its name comes from the Akpat, or Thick-billed Murre (Uria lomvia), which inhabit ledges on the limestone cliffs encircling the island.
