Arriving at the port

Cruise ships are not able to dock here, you will be tendered ashore. Please note: As of 2016 Princess Cruise will uses the Cairns cruise terminal, which is much more convenient.

Just 10 minutes north of the Cairns International Airport and 15 minutes from Cairns City is the best kept secret in Australia's Tropical North Queensland - Yorkeys Knob.

This delightful Cairns Northern Beaches destination has everything to offer visitors - safe swimming beaches, restaurants, shopping center, accommodation, world class marina, sporting activities, car hire and really friendly locals.

Nestled in the cove of Half Moon Bay is the Yorkeys Knob Boating Club serving bistro meals in an open air setting with expansive views of the marina and the ocean from the covered balcony, and a courtesy bus is available. The Half Moon Bay Marina offers 200 sheltered berths for vessels to 30 meters.

Visitors are welcome at one of the most popular golf courses in the Tropical North located at Yorkeys Knob. The picturesque Half Moon Bay Golf Club overlooks the Boating Club and Marina providing magnificent views across the Coral Sea.

You will always be able to find your own piece of paradise on our large expanse of golden palm-fringed beach. The main patrolled beach offers the protection of stinger nets in the summer season. Swim, sail, wind-surf, snorkel or dive on the Great Barrier Reef, or visit the World Heritage Rain Forests and Cairns City - do it all while staying in Yorkeys Knob. There are regular city bus services, courtesy tour pick ups, and local car rentals.

The trendy beach resort, Yorkeys Knob is just 13kms away from Cairns, the hub of North Queensland. Famous for its tropical rainforests, sunny skies and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef, a Cairns holiday is also ideal for people in search of wilderness and beauty.

Opening Hours and

Shops and services are generally open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and until lunchtime on Saturday. In cities and larger towns, many shops stay open late on Thursday or Friday evening - usually until 9pm - and all day on Saturday. Shopping malls are often open on Sundays as well.

In remote country areas, roadhouses provide all the essential services for the traveler and, on the major highways, are generally open 24 hours a day. In tourist areas, even ones well off the beaten track, tourist offices are often open every day or at least through the week plus weekend mornings; urban information centers are more likely to conform to normal shopping hours.

Tourist attractions such as museums, galleries and attended historic monuments, are often open daily, though those in rural communities may have erratic opening hours.
