Making the most of Torbay

Use these notes to shape a realistic day ashore, then confirm any time-sensitive information for the date of your call.

01

Arriving at the port

Torbay cruise ships usually anchor offshore in Tor Bay, as there is no dedicated terminal with docks large enough for big ships. Tender boats take passengers ashore to one of the harbours, most often Torquay Harbor.

Torquay Harbor is centrally placed, with the main downtown area approximately a 5-10 minutes walk away.

At Torquay Beach, enjoy the sandy shore and stroll along the promenade.

Paignton Beach is recognised for its pier and family-friendly atmosphere.

Brixham’s beaches include smaller, quieter options such as Breakwater Beach.

02

Getting around

Take a boat trip around the bay or to nearby attractions, including Dartmouth.

03

Food and shopping

Torquay Town Centre combines high street shops and boutiques with cafes and restaurants.
