Arriving at the port
When two or more ships are in Stavanger, Sandnes is used as an alternative.
At Gandsfjord's crown in southwestern Norway, Sandnes is a Stavanger neighbour and suburb. The dock is about a 25 minute walk from Sandnes center.
Sandnes has a couple of art galleries, though it is unclear what else the town offers visitors.
Sandnes train station is in the centre, with trains leaving about every 15 minutes for a 30 minute trip to Stavanger.
