Arriving at the port
Cruise ships visiting Sal, Cape Verde typically dock at the Port of Palmeira, located on the island's west coast.
The port is approximately 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) from the main town of Espargos and about 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the popular tourist town of Santa Maria.
Taxi: Taxis are readily available at the port and provide a quick and convenient way to get to Santa Maria or Espargos.
Shuttle Services: Some cruise lines offer shuttle services to Santa Maria.
Car Rental: Renting a car can be a flexible option if you want to explore the island at your own pace.
Getting around
Pedra de Lume Salt Crater: Location: East of Espargos. A unique natural wonder where you can float in a saline lake within a volcanic crater. Activities: Floating in the salt lake, exploring the crater.
Buracona – Blue Eye: Location: Northwest coast of the island. A natural pool and an underwater cave that creates a stunning blue reflection when the sun hits it at the right angle. Activities: Swimming, photography, exploring the natural formations.
