The active fishing community of Rørvik stands amid the 6000 islands, islets and skerries of Vikna. This wildlife-rich area on the Namdal coast of Northern Trøndelag, on Norway's north-west coast north of Trondheim and south of Bronnoysund, teems with birds and several fish species. Vikna appeals to wildlife enthusiasts and also offers deep-sea fishing, diving, canoeing and kayaking.

Walk through the town centre for local shops, boutiques and cosy cafés. Friendly local businesses contribute to Rørvik's charming small-town character.

Norwegian opening hours have improved, but many smaller shops still shut early on Saturday, typically at 1 PM or 3 PM, and almost everything closes on Sundays. You will often see door signs reading “9-21 (9-18)”, indicating 9 AM–9 PM on weekdays and 9 AM–6 PM on Saturday.
