South of Rio de Janeiro on the Atlantic Ocean, Porto Belo is in Brazil’s Santa Catarina state. Its small town is known for good beaches, emerald-green water and excellent diving opportunities.
Getting around
An hourly sightseeing bus tours the town and surrounding area.
Nearby places
Beaches are the key attraction, and Perequê is the largest.
Camboriu is known for its cable car between Balneário Camboriú and Laranjeiras beaches. Board at Barra Sul Cable Car Station for the short trip to Atlantic Forest Station.
Food and shopping
Shopping beside the tender dock is limited, but a free shuttle goes to downtown Porto Belo for more shops and stores.

Only a small number of cafés provide customers with free WiFi.
Opening Hours and
Most stores and businesses keep basic 9am to 6pm hours, with an extended lunch break from about noon to 2pm.
Many museums close on monday.
