Porto Belo is located south of Rio de Janeiro on the Atlantic Ocean in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. The small town is famous for its good beaches, emerald-green waters, and great diving opportunities.

There is a sightseeing bus which conducts hourly tours in and around the town.

Nearby places

The beaches are the main draw here. Perequê is the largest one.

Camboriu is famous for the cable car that links the two beaches of Balneário Camboriú and Laranjeiras. Board the cable car at the Barra Sul Cable Car Station for a short ride up to the Atlantic Forest Station.

There is limited shopping right by the tender dock but there is a free shuttle that will take you into downtown Porto Belo for more shops and stores.
