Piombino is located in the final stretch of the Etruscan Coast, which ideally begins at the height of Livorno, a hundred kilometers further north. Interesting to know In the early 1800s, Napoleon Bonaparte assigned Piombino to his sister Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi, who became regent of the Principality of Lucca and Piombino. Most shops and businesses in Italy open from Monday to Saturday from around 8am until 1pm, and from about 4pm until 7pm, though many shops close on Saturday afternoons and Monday mornings.
