Making the most of Palau
Use these notes to shape a realistic day ashore, then confirm any time-sensitive information for the date of your call.
Arriving at the port
Palau is a tender port, with the tender dock in the town centre.
With three glittering beaches—Capra, Faro and Sciutara—the Sardinian cruise village of Palau is more than a gateway to Costa Smeralda's exclusive Emerald Coast resorts. It has the facilities of a leading beach resort too, with numerous watersports and a choice of excellent fish restaurants.
Getting around
Beyond Palau, Capo d'Orso has fine views and unusual rock formations. Porto Cervo, Costa Smeralda's unofficial capital, is only 20 minutes away. Created in his own image by playboy Aga Khan during the 1960s, it continues to attract celebrity jetsetters and celebrity-watchers.
Its harbour marina is packed with yachts that would not look out of place in Monte Carlo, while shops carry only fancy designer labels.
