Arriving at the port

The Olden Cruise Port is located 1km from the centre of the village where you will find a supermarket and other shops and amenities. However, the port has several facilities including tourist information, a small café and numerous souvenir shops. This port is all about the outdoors and from the port you can hire bikes, take a trolley train ride around the town, go out onto the fjord in a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) for an exhilarating and fast ride to take in the views, or you can hike the many trails to vantage points providing sweeping and expansive views.

Getting around

There are several kiosks on the quayside who offer excursions, often a lot cheaper than onboard excursions.

Once you disembark the ship, you will see vendors selling various excursions, one of these is a 70 minute land train journey around Olden by ‘Olden Sightseeing’. 300 KR

Climb aboard the open-top bus for a scenic tour of the beautiful Olden’s landscapes. The Open Top Glacier Sightseeing tour starts from the cruise terminal and heads to a glacier viewpoint 12 kilometers from the village. At the viewpoint, A 10-minute photo stop where you can get that perfect shot. 300 KR

Nearby places

You can experience the frozen cascade of the million year old Briksdal Glacier, which is the best-known of the Jostedal Glacier's many icy arms. The beautiful Lodalen Valley can be explored by boat on the ice-green, glassy Lovatn Lake and the wild Kjenndalen. Kjenndal Glacier is one of the largest arms of Jostedal Glacier. The visitor center for Jostedalsbreen National Park is located in beautiful surroundings on the banks of Lake Stryn, and provides in-depth information about the glacier in the form of film and various exhibitions. Norway's best summer skiing center is located on Mt. Strynefjellet on the glacier plateau.

Norway’s new attraction has opened! Loen Skylift is located only 6 kilometers from the Port of Olden and takes you from the fjord to the top of Mt. Hoven (1011 meters) in only five minutes. Loen Skylift is one of the steepest cable cars in the world and offers a breathtaking and unforgettable view of the Norwegian fjord landscape.
