Arriving at the port

Hornindalsvatnet, Europe's deepest lake at 514 m, is a 10-minute bus journey from the centre. Loen Skylift Cable Car carries visitors from the fjord to 1011 m, where the fjord landscape can be enjoyed from the restaurant table or out in the mountains.

Nordfjordeid's main sight is Myklebustskipet, Norway's largest known viking ship, displayed at Sagastad Vikingcenter only 10 minutes' walk from the Sea Walk. Believed to date from year 800, the vessel has been reconstructed at full size by local boatbuilders. Sagastad Center opens 08.30 a.m. to 16.30 p.m. every cruise day.
