Arriving at the port

The nearest airport is Brunei International Airport, 16km from the port by road, with taxi and bus connections. The town centre is 28km from the terminal and cannot be reached on foot. Neither taxis nor public transport are available at the pier, while tour buses are 5 m from the ship.

Getting around

SHORT-TRIP AND HALF-DAY SIGHTSEEING OPTIONS

  • Bandar Seri Begawan city tour: see the two principal mosques, Royal Regalia Building, Brunei and Malay Technology museums, and the Sultan’s Palace on a 1/2 day tour.
  • Kampong Ayer tour: discover the water village by boat and on foot, crossing wooden planks between settlements before taking tea and cakes in a local family home on a 1/2 day tour.
  • Nature tour: watch proboscis monkeys in their natural environment near Bandar, then look for flocks of white egrets returning to their dusk roosts on a 1/2 day tour.

Bahasa Melayu is the official language, while English and Chinese are also spoken.
