Arriving at the port
Moreton Island, one of nature’s undisturbed wonders, is a 17,000 ha naturally formed sand island situated in the Moreton Bay Marine Park. Approximately 95 per cent of Moreton Island is National Park and it is home to a diverse range of wildlife and vegetation as well as being very popular destination for nature based recreational pursuits.
Ships depart Moreton Island usually after the evening dolphin-feeding. The island's biggest attraction.
You will be tendered to the Tangalooma Resort.
A pristine destination off the coast of Brisbane, Moreton Island is a paradise for 4WD enthusiasts, campers, fishermen, nature-lovers and families.
The main attraction is the wild dolphin feeding, which takes place every evening around sunset at the Tangalooma resort. Between five and nine dolphins swim in from the ocean to take fish from the hands of volunteer feeders, but you need to be a guest at the resort with a ‘dolphin feeding package’ to be involved. Day visitors to Tangalooma are welcome to watch from the jetty.
The island features white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, refreshing freshwater lakes and lagoons, the Desert region where the one of the world’s highest sand dunes is located, fragile wetlands, breeding grounds for the humpback whales, green turtles and dugongs and masses of amazing birdlife.
Getting around
There are no paved roads on Moreton Island, but 4WDs can travel along the beaches.

4 internet kiosks are available for use in the Cane Lounge at a cost of $4 for 15 minutes. Recharge cards can be purchased from reception, tours desk or the resort Shop. Credit cards are accepted on the machines also.
