Making the most of Los Cristianos Tenerife

Arriving at the port
This is a tender port, with tenders arriving in the town centre. Los Cristianos sits beside Playa de Las Americas, a lively resort with a pleasant, walkable beachfront and plenty to do.

Tenerife, the largest Canary Island, has one of the world's most varied and dramatic landscapes: lush valleys and plantations, glorious beaches, extensive pinewoods and Mount Teide National Park's volcanic moonscape. A cable car can take you right to the crater rim.
Explore the town on foot using its long beachfront promenade and wheelchair-friendly pedestrian paths. Taxis are inexpensive and easy to find locally.
Getting around
For bus travel, known as guagua in Tenerife, pick up a timetable from a bus station, shops or perhaps your hotel. The island service is quite good but time-consuming. If more than one person is travelling, or several places are planned, it is better to hire a car.
Nearby places
Los Cristianos has two world-class beaches. The main Playa de Los Cristianos is sheltered by the harbour, with water sports, beach volleyball, showers and a children's play area, only a few meters from the tender dock. A lounge chair and umbrella cost 3 euro each for the day.
Las Vistas Beach, in the bay beyond the harbour, is a man-made beach protected by breakwaters. It also has water sports, showers and tourist information facilities.
Los Cristianos also has a rocky black-sand beach in the "Rincon" area, between the Puerto Viejo headland and Montaña Guaza cliffs. It has no real facilities but is popular with Naturists.

The long promenade along the beachfront has numerous restaurants and shopping options.

Opening Hours and
Typical shop and business hours run Monday-Saturday, 9.30 h to 13.30 h and 16.30 to 20.00 h.
Large shopping centres and department stores usually trade continuously from 10.00 h to 21.00 or 22.00 h, and may sometimes open on Sunday.
During high season in coastal cities, shops commonly remain open beyond 22.00 h.
Pharmacies trade from 9.30 to 13.30 h and from 16.30 to 20.00 h. Major cities have pharmacies open 24 hours. A rotating late-hours timetable is published in newspapers and posted at every pharmacy.
Museums are generally shut on Mondays.
