Arriving at the port
Lamlash is a small coastal village on the Isle of Arran in North Ayrshire, Scotland, located on the scenic shores of Lamlash Bay in the Firth of Clyde.
Lamlash Pier / Old Pier is the main local harbour point where boats and small vessels operate. It isn’t a large commercial cruise terminal like those in bigger cities, but it does appear on some cruise itineraries as a call or tender destination for smaller expedition and specialty cruise ships during certain seasons.
Larger traditional cruises to the Isle of Arran typically dock at Brodick Ferry Terminal, the main ferry and cruise vessel harbour on the island’s eastern coast.
Sightseeing
Brodick town centre is like a dozen other "Costa Clyde" resorts, with a line of Victoriana along the sea front, and a gush of traffic whenever a ferry arrives.
Brodick Castle This splendid pile is Arran's top sight. It dates to 14th century but most of what you see is grand baronial Victoriana. Plus gardens and country park.

Bus routes all start from Brodick ferry terminal and ply all the island roads except the Ross Road.
Money
The currency throughout the UK is the pound (£). You may also hear the slang term quid for pounds. Scottish bank notes are frowned upon in other parts of the UK, so change the notes before leaving Scotland.
