Arriving at the port

This is a tender port.

The ship will anchor at Penneshaw. The fixed platform allows passengers to embark and disembark and features a series of levels for use in different tides and for two tender vessels to pull alongside at one time.

There’s far more than simply Kangaroos waiting to welcome you onto the beautiful Kangaroo Island. The third largest Australian island boasts incredible natural beauty, unspoiled beaches and a truly unique opportunity to see an amazing range of animals in their local habitat. As you would expect there is a healthy kangaroo population, along with wallabies, koalas, seals, sea lions, and goannas, a type of lizard that grows up to a meter long.

Penneshaw is a small pretty country town on Kangaroo Island with a population of about 1500 people.

The beach at Penneshaw is known as Hog Bay, and is an excellent sandy swimming beach, and its picnic spots make it a destination popular with families, and above the beach, there is a grassy picnic reserve complete with bar-b-cues.
