Arriving at the port
Greenwich Pier is a pier on the River Thames in the London borough of Greenwich, UK. It is operated by London River Services and called at by various river cruise operators, mostly operating public cruise services to and from Central London. The sights of Greenwich itself are within walking distance. London City Cruise Port will accommodate vessels up to 240m in length and 8m draught was completed in 2018.
To get to central London one can take buses, underground or light railway.
Probably the most scenic an fun way is to take the river boat service to the Tower Bridge in London (about 6 pounds each way)
Transportation in London
Greenwich is a popular tourist destination in London and is now a World Heritage Site. The pier is immediately adjacent to the clipper ship Cutty Sark, the Gypsy Moth IV and the Greenwich Hospital, and within two minutes walk of the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich Park, the Royal Naval College and central Greenwich, with its covered market and shops. Due to its proximity to the Royal Observatory, Greenwich Pier lies just to the west of the Prime Meridian.
Getting around

The currency throughout the UK is the pound (£). You may also hear the slang term quid for pounds. Scottish bank notes are frowned upon in other parts of the UK, so change the notes before leaving Scotland.
Cash machines (ATM) or less formally 'holes in the wall' are very widely available and usually dispense £10 and £20 notes.
Visa, Mastercard and Maestro, are accepted by most shops and restaurants.

English is spoken throughout the country, but sometimes with heavy accents!
