Making the most of Golfo Aranci

Use these notes to shape a realistic day ashore, then confirm any time-sensitive information for the date of your call.

01

Arriving at the port

This is a tender port. The tender dock is in the center of town.

The Sardinian coastline is serrated by deep-cut coves of sparkling sea, surrounded by rocky prominences and edged in lovely strands of beach. The Aga Khan fell in love with the place, and dubbed it the Costa Smeralda, creating a magnet for the global glitterati. At Golfo Aranci, shining arcs of silvery sand are linked into a larger curve, encircled by a muscular peninsula that looms protectively between the town and the sea. It looks expensive, and it is.

02

Getting around

In addition to the stunning beaches in the gulf, one mustn't forget the other equally beautiful beaches in the immediate vicinities, like, for example, Cala Moresca, Cala Greca, Cala Sabina and the spiaggia Bianca. The marine reserve of the island of Tavolara is very near, alongside the beautiful Capo Coda Cavallo.

The sea, famous for its transparency and beauty offers wonderful water sports opportunities, in particular scuba diving.

Nearby is the enchanting Cala Moresca and its pine forest which can be reached only on foot or by bicycle.

One of the most evocative archeological remains of the area is the Sacred Well of Milis, which dates back to the Nuragic era.
