Arriving at the port
Geraldton is the capital of Western Australia's Mid West and gateway to the magnificent Abrolhos Islands.
Geraldton recently acquired four shore tension units which allows ships to safely berth in Geraldton.
All cruise ships go into Geraldton Port which means that passengers no longer have to tender ashore.
Geraldton Cruise Ship Meet and Greet Volunteers will be available for all arrivals and on hand to provide you any local information you might need. The Geraldton Visitor Centre is also within easy reach and can provide more information of the area. There are many restaurants, pubs, cafes, bars and shopping precincts nearby.

A good place to begin an exploration of Geraldton is along Marine Tce, one street back from the sleek new waterfront promenade. Here you’ll find pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes.

Among new attractions will be a sky walk at Kalbarri National Park, was completed in 2019. The park is 150 km N of Geraldton.

Shops and services are generally open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and until lunchtime on Saturday. In cities and larger towns, many shops stay open late on Thursday or Friday evening - usually until 9pm - and all day on Saturday. Shopping malls are often open on Sundays as well.
In remote country areas, roadhouses provide all the essential services for the traveler and, on the major highways, are generally open 24 hours a day. In tourist areas, even ones well off the beaten track, tourist offices are often open every day or at least through the week plus weekend mornings; urban information centers are more likely to conform to normal shopping hours.
Tourist attractions such as museums, galleries and attended historic monuments, are often open daily, though those in rural communities may have erratic opening hours.
