Arriving at the port
As cruise ships cannot dock, passengers are tendered ashore.
Be close enough to the coast to feel part of it: stroll through a beautiful garden beneath a Little Penguin colony, then reach a private beach with a magical island almost at hand. Douglas Apsley and Freycinet National Parks, including Wineglass Bay and the remarkable township of Coles Bay, are also close.
Getting around
From Redbill Beach, with its solid sandy breaks, the 3km Foreshore Footway runs south to Peggys Point, the Gulch and the Blowhole, before returning on footpaths with panoramic town views. Whalers Hill is the lookout once used to spot whales.
