Arriving at the port
Datça is a seaside town on the Datça Peninsula in southwest Turkey where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean. It’s known as a scenic cruising destination rather than a major cruise ship terminal like some larger Turkish ports (e.g., Kusadasi or Istanbul) — meaning that large ocean cruise ships typically don’t make regular scheduled calls here
Getting around
Knidos (Knidos Antik Kenti) is the ruin of an ancient city at the west tip of the peninsula. It was a small trading port from 1100 BC, became the area's main town around 330 BC, and was inhabited until 500 AD. It occupied the island of Triopion and adjacent mainland, which became joined by a tombola spit, built up into a causeway.
Money
Turkey's currency is the Turkish Lira. Many shops and restaurants in the coastal resorts and big cities accept payment in euros and US dollars. But if you are planning to travel to other parts of the country, it is advisable to take some Turkish Lira.
