Making the most of Cid harbor

Arriving at the port
Cruise ships are not able to dock here, you will be tendered ashore.
Cid harbor is the gateway to the 70-odd islands of the Whitsunday group, probably the best known and most developed of the Barrier Reef islands. The group was named by Captain Cook who sailed through the area on July 3, 1770. The islands are scattered on both sides of the Whitsunday Passage, within 50 km of Cid harbor, the jumping-off point for the many cruises through the group. Getting around
For the really adventurous, there is a walking track to Whitsunday peak... but make sure you pack some water! There is a nice walk round to Dugong Inlet from Sawmill Beach as well.
