Sightseeing
La Blanquilla provides excellent snorkelling and diving. Surrounding reefs are particularly known for rare black coral, while marine species include blueheads, French angelfish, porcupine fish, balloon fish, red-lipped blenny, queen and princess parrotfish, and flying fish.
Colourful parrots, owls, iguanas, lizards, hermit crabs and wild donkeys can all be encountered on land.
Getting around
Wear shoes when venturing beyond the white-sand beaches, as prickly-pear cactus grows throughout the island.
