Arriving at the port
Amalia Glacier, or Skua Glacier, is a tidewater glacier in Bernardo O'Higgins National Park that flows from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Between 1945 and 1986, its terminus withdrew by 7 km; together with the retreat of O'Higgins Glacier, this was the most severe recession recorded among that ice field's glaciers in the period. The ice partly encircles Reclus volcano and wears away its northern flank.
